Vote! Vonn Sportswoman of the Year

PARK CITY, UT (Sept. 1) – Olympic gold medalist and World Champion Lindsey Vonn (Vail, CO) needs your vote for the 2011 Sportswoman of the Year award. The annual Women's Sports Foundation (WSF) honor is one of the most prestigious in women's athletics. 


Though Vonn has been a finalist in the past, she has never won. You can help change that by going to the WSF Facebook page, selecting Vonn's photo and clicking "like." Voting closes at midnight on Monday, Sept. 5, so hurry.


Vonn stormed the 2011 Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season with eight victories that led to the her fourth downhill title, third super G title and second super combined crown. She fell three points shy of a fourth overall crown when the final race of the season was canceled due to weather. She also claimed the World Championship silver medal for downhill. 


Off the snow, Vonn was named the 2011 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year and the first Winter Youth Olympic Games Ambassador for Innsbruck 2012. Vonn won her second straight Best Female Athlete ESPY and the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award for Favorite Female Athlete.
