Growing up in Wyoming, Anna Marno has her dad, a former coach and racer to thank for introducing her to the slopes at Snowy Range. It didn't take her long to get fast, and she qualified for U.S. Championships when she was a first-year J2. After 2010 she got an invite to the U.S. Development Team. Six years later she’s now on the cusp of becoming a World Cup regular.

After missing most of the 2013 season with a blown ACL/MCL, Marno stormed back into action during the Olympic year to land top 10 in all of the NorAm Cup discipline standings (save slalom), including fourth in overall, giant slalom and super G. She also bagged her first Audi FIS Alpine World Cup start with a super G race in Beaver Creek, CO, home of the 2015 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships. A season-capping bronze medal in giant slalom at the Nature Valley U.S. Alpine Championships at Squaw Valley, CA has this Colorado gal hungry for more hardware in 2015.

“I learned to ski as soon as I could walk. With my dad as my coach and the ski area as my second home, I never so much as considered a different path. I had a hard time adjusting to the warm months without snow, to compensate I named my animals after ski racing legends. Herman, Bode, Picabo, and Tomba lived happily in our barn.

In search of bigger mountains and a larger community, we moved to Steamboat Springs, CO in 2004. In Steamboat I continued to pursue ski racing, graduated High School from the Lowell Whiteman School and was named to the US Ski Team in 2009.”

When not skiing, Marno will be the one rocking the flower-print hat that looks like it was bought at a truck stop in North Dakota. Ask her the story behind that one. Her summertime is all about kicking back in the mountains and riding horses.
