Cochran’s Ski Club, VT is seeking coaches for the 2017/18 season! Cochran’s Ski Area is the first non-profit ski area in the nation and is located in Richmond, VT.   The Ski Club is a family-focused, energetic group dedicated to alpine ski training and racing for the U8 through U19 age groups.  Much of weekday training is at Cochran’s Ski Area, with occasional larger mountain training at Stowe and other nearby areas.  Younger athletes race Northern VARA council races and older athletes compete throughout Vermont and New England. While the focus is on racing, our coaching staff strives to foster a love of skiing in the Cochran tradition.  We take great pride in consistently putting on high quality races and having fun while doing it.  

Weekend dryland training starts in September and our season runs through early April.  We have a couple of key events, including our annual November ski sale and Rope-a-thon, with which we expect coaching staff will help out.  We are seeking coaches to complement our existing staff and we have coaching needs for both younger and older (high school age) age groups.

RMST is a growing (34% YoY) weekend based Alpine ski program from that strives to provide the best opportunity for young athletes of all backgrounds and commitment levels, the chance to enjoy and achieve excellence in alpine skiing and racing. RMST does this by providing a professional staff with regular training on appropriate, quality terrain, in a fun, healthy, family-friendly, environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship and confidence. We coach our athletes to become great skiers first, with a broad fundamental skill base while fostering a love for the sport. Our goal is that RMST athletes find a lifetime of skiing and racing enjoyment. RMST is a family-focused, energetic group dedicated to alpine ski training and racing starting with the Mini Mountain Meisters, then on to the Development Team, and through U19, SR. age groups while maintaining a 6:1 Athlete to Coach training/supervision ratio. The program has seen substantial growth recently with well over 120 athletes and is in need of Certified Coaches. Most of the training takes place on weekends and holidays. (With the opportunity for training at other nearby areas for older athletes as well as the possibility of mid-week training depending on an athlete`s goals and coaches schedules). Younger athletes race NHARA Central Council races and older athletes compete throughout New Hampshire and New England. Team Summit Colorado is now hiring seasonal coaches for our Intro to Team Summit program for the 2017-18 season. Come join the Team Summit crew coaching athletes on snow and sharing the life skills that come with it! This program is designed to introduce young skiers to the full spectrum of skiing skills and environments, including free skiing, racing, moguls, variable terrain, as well as park and pipe. Ideal applicants should have a competitive snowsports background and/or PSIA or USSA certifications. The on-snow programming takes place on Saturdays from the beginning of December through the end of March, with programs taking place at Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain.  Coaches in Team Summit’s Intro to Ski program receive a season’s pass for the mountain(s) at which they coach. Freeski Programs: We are currently hiring seasonal coaches for our Intro to Freeski and Moguls programs. Our Freeski programs follow a progression based format allowing our athletes to safely improve their skills at a rate they are comfortable with.  Athletes utilize the proper facilities, including Woodward at Copper, Team Trampolines and Water Ramps in order to perfect their skills prior to applying them to snow.  Come join the fun and help our athletes achieve their personal podiums!

Eldora Mountain Ski & Snowboard, CO  Alpine Program Ski Coaches / Alpine Competitive Freestyle Team. 

EMSC is seeking experienced coaches for our U10 – 16 winter alpine programs, including the Competitive Freestyle Team (slopestyle / Big Mountain / ski and snowboard). Seasonal positions require on-hill coaching duties, weekend travel, weekday training, along with holiday camp training blocks over November and December.  Alpine programs consist of fall dryland training, with full commitment from November through April.  The Alpine Program (U10 – U16) is primarily a weekend based program, with weekday afternoon training and afterschool options for athletes.  Part Time Coaching responsibilities focus on weekends throughout the season.  Full Time opportunities consist of on-snow training Tue – Friday (afternoons/evenings), with weekend training, and holiday camps.  The Competitive Freestyle Team program is limited to 30 qualified athletes, and further follows the USASA, IFSA and Rocky Mtn Region competition series.  EMSC Freestyle Athletes focus specifically on slopestyle and big mountain competition elements.   Coaches should have excellent communication skills, demonstrate collaboration and professionalism among all EMSC alpine programs and Eldora Resort Staff, and further have certification within USSA, USASA, PSIA and IFSA based upon position selection.   Additional responsibilities will include athletic instruction with dryland conditioning, team travel driving responsibilities, along with extended periods working outdoors assisting with competitions, training, setting Bnet and maintaining equipment throughout the season.

Loveland Ski Club (LSC), Colorado is seeking qualified applicants to join our full-time Junior Team coaching staff for our 2017-2018 season.  This is a nine-month (October-June), full-time position for a career minded coach looking to become part of Loveland Ski Club’s rapidly growing program.  The Junior Team is a group of highly motivated U12 and U14 athletes who compete in Age Class races throughout Colorado.  Junior Team athletes train Friday-Sundays and midweek the candidate works closely with our Alpine Race Academy coaches to further professional development.  The race season at Loveland runs through mid-April, with employment continuing through mid-June, if desired,, including a designated Spring On-Snow Camp for Junior Team and outside athletes.

The National Ability Center, UT is currently in the process of hiring for a Para Alpine Team Coach.  Qualified candidates do not need experience in the Para Alpine world, but excitement to learn and creativity in the sport of alpine ski racing  is a must.  Any level of current US Ski and Snowboard certification is also preferred. The Alpine Team Coach is responsible for supporting the Alpine Team Head Coach in the implementation of a full time training and competition program working with athletes of all Paralympic classifiable abilities (Visually Impaired, Standing, and sitting) ranging in competition experience from entry level thru Elite Paralympic and Para World Championship medalists. This position, will work hand in hand with the head coach, NAC staff, and volunteers in assisting in the overall development of the athletes and the program.

Mt. Hood Race Team & Academy, OR is seeking a positive and experienced coach to be a contributing member to the overall vision, mission, and philosophy of developing character values through the pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.

Responsibilities: This position is the lead coach overseeing all athletic domains for our U16-U21 athletes. The primary responsibility of the Academy Coach is to conduct on-snow training but will also include roles with strength and conditioning, equipment management, race travel arrangements, and part time dorm supervision shared by all staff.

Alyeska Ski Club, AK Coaching Opportunities For almost 50 years, the Alyeska Ski Club’s (ASC) programs have created a community where generations of skiers have achieved many levels of athletic and personal success on the international, national and regional scene.   • Ability to develop strategies and define best practices, training plans and athletic based curriculum for athlete development.
  • Ability to assist in formation of project planning and budgets.
  • Ability to provide guidance in the areas of sport psychology, nutrition and equipment selection, preparation and maintenance.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with parents and athletes.
  • Ability to work within a larger coaching team and able to create and nurture an environment of team spirit and unity.  
  • Ability to act as a positive role model, inspiring, motivating, and positively influencing athletes.
  • Results oriented and highly self-motivated.
